Pastor Persell Ross, Jr. is a native of Van Wyck, SC where he attended Indian Land Elementary and Middle Schools. He later moved to Rock Hill, SC where he graduated from Rock Hill High School. After high school, Pastor Ross served eight years in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Pastor Ross answered his calling to preach the Gospel in October of 1997 in the A.M.E. Zion Church. He served as an Associate Minister of Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, Rock Hill, SC. After five years ministering in the Methodist church, he joined the Sandy River Baptist Association(Upper Division) through First Calvary Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC; under the leadership of Rev. Dr. L. L. Hancock, Sr. In 2003 he became Senior Pastor of St Luke II Baptist Church in Sharon, SC. He is very actively involved within the SRBA(UD), as he is a frequent lecturer for the Sunday School Congress of Christian Education.

Pastor Ross is greatly involved with efforts to help build community in York County by serving as an Arbitrator for the York County Juvenile Arbitration Program and an Auxiliary Probation Officer for the SC Department of Juvenile Justice. He also serves as 1st Vice-President of the Western York County Branch of the NAACP.
